Easy Care & Maintenance
Orion Quartz is made from high quality natural quartz and advanced polymers, it is durable, scratch resistant and resists stains. Because of the high density and non-porous quality, Orion Quartz does not require sealants or waxes and meets stringent sanitation requirements for residential kitchen surfaces.
You can enjoy years of elegance and beauty by following the simple guidelines below.
Everyday cleaning the surface using a soft cloth / dish cloth or sponge with a mild dish-soap diluted in warm water. Thoroughly rinse with clean water and dry with soft cloth or paper towels to prevent spotting. Instantly clean liquid spills and dried foods. Note: Scraping by a metal blade will abrade and leave a gray mark on the surface.
For Stubborn Stains apply a non-abrasive household cleaner and rinse to remove residue. For dried liquids, foods and any harden marks, gently scrap using a plastic putty knife or a non-abrasive Scotch-Brite® (white Scotch-Brite®) and then use a damp cloth to lift any residual stains and marks.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents such as regular Comet and Ajax. Any scrubs and cleaners that contain either soft or hard abrasive particles. Use nonabrasive cleaning powders such as Bon Ami and Bar keepers. Chemicals in some regularly cleaning products can damage the surface, Do not use products containing Hydrofluoric acid, Methylene chloride, Trichloroethylene or any product with a very high or very low PH such as drain cleaners, paint strippers, this will etch or discolor the surface.
Do not use highly aggressive cleaning agents such as oven/grill cleaners and dishwasher polishing agents that have high alkaline/pH levels (pH 8.5 or higher).
Orion Quartz is highly Scratch resistant but not impenetrable. Avoid damage by refraining from using knives, screw drivers and other sharp objects directly on the surface. Never cut or chop directly on Orion Quartz surface, always use a cutting/chopping board when preparing foods.
Orion Quartz is scorch/heat resistant and under normal use is not affected. Always use a trivet or heat resistant pads (hot pads) while using heat generating items including but not limited to crock pots, hot pots, deep fryers, and pans or electric skillets. Sudden or rapid change of temperature or sustained heating can create enough thermal expansion energy and the can cause the countertop to crack.
